This was a project I did for Intermediate Graphic Design class, where I was to find an existing magazine ad that had some sort of visual metaphor and redesign it with an idea of my own. It had to be a "fusion" ad where we use elements of the product and make it do something it isn't actually meant to do, in the name of enticing sales.

​I chose an Old Spice magazine ad, which in classic magazine ad fashion was a light sexual innuendo (a woman licking an ice cream cone). I scrapped everything from that except for the red Old Spice banner across the bottom.

​The idea behind this is that the deodorant is so refreshing that it contains the senses of this beautiful scene in nature. The fusion part being that I combined the deodorant stick with a naturally occurring waterfall, to make it appear as if the deodorant is the source of this fresh water.
